First Ever Post

I have been researching blogging for the past few months now because I love to write.  I wanted someplace to go because I have stories to share and things to learn.  Honestly, I need to keep motivated on my weight loss journey and getting fit now that I'm 43.  I have always been an emotional eater and not a very active one!

I joined Weight Watcher's back in 1989 and achieved lifetime status - I was down to an itty bitty 123 lbs - that was suppose to be my goal weight according to my height.  I haven't grown vertically since then, but I have grown horizontally.  If I was to set my goal at 123lbs now, I'd have to surely cut off some of my extremities.  At 5'4 there is NO way I could get back to that weight.  My goal is 140 and I'd be happy with that.  Will I ever get there ... I'm trying ... I started at 189 lbs in the New Year - c'mon, you know the infamous resolutions we all make - I made mine and I'm just stubborn enough to keep it.

I couldn't afford to join a gym so I jumped on my treadmill in the basement.  It sits next to my exercise ball and weights.  Who actually ever uses their home gym equipment?  I quickly grew bored of going down into my dingy basement and getting on my treadmill.

Someone must have surely been sitting on my shoulder that day.  In the mail, I received a brochure from YMCA with their full schedule.  The prices were still a bit much, so I looked them up online.  They had a payment program so people like me could join, no excuses now.  I was even allowed a personal trainer for 3 sessions and I didn't have to pay extra for this.  So, I joined the gym.  For the first time in my life.

I will share with you tomorrow, my first day ...
